Agea

Agea is the capital city of Mars, the seat of House Augustus and of the planet's ArchGovernor. It lies in the western hemisphere on the continent of Apollonia, set within the Valles Marineris, the largest canyon in the Solar System, whose sheer walls frame the city on either side. Founded in the earliest years of Martian settlement, it spread westward down the canyon as terraforming advanced, and its oldest quarter has been given over to forests and parkland threaded between monuments.

Agea is home to millions and built in the Gold manner, all marble, columns, and deliberate grandeur, its districts sorted by Color as the hierarchy requires. From its citadel the ArchGovernor administers a planet of a thousand cities and the mining colonies beneath them, making Agea the center of Martian power and the stage for much of the business on Mars.
