A farmer's son from the Re-Estize Kingdom who deserted his third draft and fell in with the Death Spreading Brigade, an unremarkable fighter put to use mostly as a spy and a servant.
Zach (ザック) is a member of the Death Spreading Brigade, taken on to make up numbers the outfit had lost. He is a poor, half-starved-looking man with no manners and no polish, bitter and cynical and untroubled by anything he has done, though he is capable of caring about someone: his younger sister Lilia, whom their parents sold into slavery when the two of them were children. He grew up a farmer's son in the Re-Estize Kingdom and was drafted three times, running from the third. As a fighter he is unremarkable, and he is put to use mostly as a spy and a manservant.
