Wand
Wands in Overlord are short magical implements that let casters use the spells stored in them, bound to the caster's own magic system, unlike the costlier staves open to all disciplines.
Spellcasting tools in Overlord come in a hierarchy, and the wand sits at its accessible end. Wands are short magical implements that let magic casters cast the spells imbued in them, a way to hold a piece of magic ready for use.
Their limitation is affinity: a wand ordinarily works only for casters of the same magic system as the spell it carries. A divine magic caster, for example, can use a wand imbued with the first-tier prayer Light Healing, while an arcane caster cannot. Staves, the wand's larger and more expensive relatives, forgive this restriction and answer to magic casters of all disciplines. In a New World where healing and utility magic carry real economic weight, such implements circulate as valuable equipment among temples, adventurers, and armies alike.
