The Slane Theocracy in Overlord is a six-hundred-year-old religious nation of the New World devoted to the Six Great Gods, a strong, advanced human state that preaches human supremacy and meddles abroad.
Religion defines statehood nowhere in Overlord so completely as in the Slane Theocracy, a human nation of the New World and one of the three states neighboring Nazarick. Counted among the strongest countries of the region, it is an orthodox religious state with six hundred years of history built on devotion to the Six Great Gods, who appeared six centuries ago.
The Theocracy divides into six sects, one for each god, and each sect maintains a specialized Scripture, an elite unit with its own expertise. Its civilization runs ahead of its neighbors in technology, it trains divine magic casters through an institutional school system, and its citizens read at unusually high rates. Doctrine preaches human supremacy, a stance its leadership wields deliberately to bind humanity together, and the nation freely interferes in other countries' affairs in the name of mankind's greater good.
