This human nation of the New World borders the Abelion Hills, where warring demi-human tribes live in constant ferment, and against periodic invasion it raises the greatest fortification in the known world, the Great Wall, alongside a law of universal conscription. Founded roughly two hundred years ago after the Evil Deities' reign of terror, the country wraps around a gigantic bay, its north and south halves so distinct that some speak of two kingdoms.
Its throne breaks precedent in the era: Calca Bessarez reigns as the Holy Kingdom's first female monarch, elder brother Caspond having stepped aside, while southern nobles chafe at her elevation. The paladin order under Grandmaster Remedios and the clergy under High Priestess Kelart anchor the state's strength.
