The Re-Estize Kingdom of Overlord keeps its throne in a city that shares its name. Re-Estize, the royal capital, is a very ancient city, and its condition reflects the crown's thin finances: outside the upper-class quarters most streets go unpaved, and the roads leading to the capital are unsafe enough that travelers hire mercenaries for the journey.
At the city's heart, King Ramposa III holds court with his nobles in the Valencia Palace within Ro-Lente Castle, the seat from which the Kingdom's fractious politics are managed. Beneath the surface runs another power: the criminal syndicate Eight Fingers operates through the capital in connection with corrupt nobles, threading its business into the city's commerce and its underworld alike.
