Queen War is an event in Mass for the Dead, the mobile game set in the world of Overlord: a tournament held inside the Great Tomb of Nazarick between the Floor Guardians Albedo and Shalltear Bloodfallen for the title of Queen of Nazarick. The argument over which of them suits the role better goes to a contest at Demiurge's suggestion. The stated purpose is practical, preparing for a day when Nazarick has to sign agreements with other nations, on the reasoning that having a queen smooths diplomacy, and whoever takes the title carries the duty of producing a successor. Four themes are set for the contest, the first of them sociability, since the role calls for public relations and for handling upper class company without causing a diplomatic incident. The event first ran from 30 May to 9 June 2019 and has been re-released several times since.
