Priest

Priest is a job class in Overlord, carried over from YGGDRASIL, though the religious role attached to it differs from one human nation of the New World to the next. Priests preach to their people about the gods they follow and call on divine magic to work miracles, and it falls to them to judge a body laid in a cemetery crypt before it is buried. Their healing is what makes them indispensable in daily life: people hire a priest when they fall ill or are injured, for an appropriate fee, and those who cannot pay work the cost off in labor or are treated with herbal medicines instead, which cost far less than magic. Priests also take in survivors of raided villages, particularly orphaned children, when the government does not.
