New Faction

New Faction is the working name for a political bloc that formed inside the Re-Estize Kingdom's government, made up of nobles who came into power suddenly and were never raised to expect it. Philip Dayton L'Eyre Montserrat and Hilma Cygnaeus put it together to gather these new heads of house into one body and to run the country's affairs at a distance from the older Noble Faction, whose weight in the Kingdom had fallen away. Its membership is drawn largely from spare sons who inherited once the heads and heirs of their families were gone, and it shows. The faction has little of the sense or the manners the aristocracy expects of itself, no patience with the unwritten rules, and a considerable appetite for power. Since its members hold autonomy over their own lands, there is not much the crown can do about them short of a broken law.
