Martial Arts

Martial Arts are the fighting techniques of warriors native to the New World in Overlord, one of several powers with no equivalent in the game YGGDRASIL. Where magic casters work through tier magic, martial arts serve as the matching discipline for melee fighters, sharpening the mind and raising physical ability for as long as a technique is held. They cost the user focus, so only so many can run at once: a swordsman of Gazef Stronoff's standing can normally hold six, and seven when pressed. They can also be combined and chained for greater effect. Mastery comes only through hard training with sparring partners, and their applications are wide, from raising raw strength or magic resistance to strengthening a weapon.
