Maid

Maid is a job class of the New World in Overlord, and reaching it takes a long apprenticeship: posture, bearing and the whole round of household duties have to be learned before the class itself is attained. Conditions for ordinary maids are poor. A windowless stone room that keeps out the sun but not the cold is typical, and although maids in noble houses are allowed to bathe because they appear in front of guests, the water they get is cold. The palace maids of the Re-Estize Kingdom are a different case: they are daughters of noble houses placed there for experience, the ones nearest the royal family drawn from high-ranking families, and they rank well above any commoner. Some maids in noble households also pass information to whoever pays for it.
