Magic Caster

Magic caster is the general term in Overlord for anyone whose profession is magic, in the New World and in Yggdrasil alike. The types divide into arcane casters such as elementalists and sorcerers, divine casters such as clerics and hierophants, spiritual casters such as talisman users and shamans, and alternative types including bards, paladins and cursed knights. Each category carries its own rank system, and a caster is placed by the highest tier reached within a single category rather than across all of them, so an efficient class build matters to anyone aiming at high tier spells. Casters of the New World, arcane ones in particular, have weaker bodies than warriors and they prefer to fight at a distance. Casting takes intense focus and movement disturbs it, so a caster stands still to cast unless flight lets him hold his distance and keep a mobile fight.
