Katze Plains

A permanent fog lies over the Katze Plains of Overlord, a barren stretch of land between the Re-Estize Kingdom and the Baharuth Empire. Once inhabited, the plains are now a cursed ground of collapsed centuries-old towers where the two nations fight their annual war, and the yearly harvest of corpses feeds an endless spawning of undead, from zombies to skeletal dragons assembled out of hundreds of the dead.

The fog itself registers as a form of life, which blinds undead-detection magic and makes ambushes constant, and left alone the gathering dead grow into stronger, smarter forms. Rumor adds an Elder Lich cruising the mists aboard a ghost ship. For the adventurers based in E-Rantel the plains are steady income, an inexhaustible hunting ground whose captured undead even find buyers for the Empire's arena.
