Karsanas City-State Alliance

The Karsanas City-State Alliance, usually shortened to the City-State Alliance, is a nation east of the Baharuth Empire in Overlord and a union of many races and cities. Its cities and territories hold an average of four hundred thousand people, the largest six hundred thousand. A few centuries ago a single large nation stood here; when it collapsed, fourteen city-states emerged, each built around a metropolis, and they warred among themselves, uniting and splitting again, until the event remembered as the Great Debate produced the present alliance of twelve. Old prejudices are slow to fade, especially among the longer lived races for whom that fighting is recent memory, so a tournament is held between the states every five years as an outlet. Sixteen events make up the program, the most popular being the Connelier, or mock combat. The alliance's national hero is the Dark Knight.
