The elite unit of the Baharuth Empire in Overlord and Emperor Jircniv's personal guard.
The Four Imperial Knights are the elite military unit of the Baharuth Empire in Overlord and the personal guard of Emperor Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix. The Emperor recruits each of them himself, without regard to background or history, on the strength of their fighting skill alone, which leaves the four with sharply different views, temperaments, abilities, and degrees of loyalty to the man they serve. They carry out his will, protect him from threats, and fight on his behalf in the annual wars against the Re-Estize Kingdom, and at least one of them stays in the imperial capital at all times. Within the Imperial Army their authority is equal to that of a general.
