Elf Country

The Elf Country is a nation of elves in the New World in Overlord, lying south of the Slane Theocracy. Its people live in the treetops of a forest full of monsters, in one great city at Crescent Lake and in villages that seldom hold two hundred souls. Most of them are wood elves, with a small number of wild elves out in the meadows and dark elves who came down from the north roughly three hundred years ago. The two nations were once on friendly terms, despite the Theocracy's standing prejudice against non-humans, but they are at war now and have been for a long time. The invaders advance slowly, since the country is dense woodland that is hard to cross, though the elves have the worse of it and many of them have been taken and enslaved.
