The Dwarf Kingdom in Overlord is a nation of dwarves in caverns beneath the Azerlisia Mountains, heir to a golden age of runecraft and locked in long conflict with the mole-like Quagoa.
Beneath the Azerlisia Mountains in Overlord lies the Dwarf Kingdom, a nation of dwarves dwelling in earthen halls carved through the range's caverns. Its recorded history runs back more than two hundred years, through a long isolation that lifts in the era of the Thirteen Heroes, when the dwarven cities prosper in what their people remember as the golden age of runecraft.
That age ends when one of the Demon Gods attacks, destroying the ancient capital and killing most of the royal family; the surviving royal, remembered in legend as the Magic Craftsman and the Runesmith King, departs to join the fight against the Demon Gods. Of the four underground cities the nation once maintains, two remain, and its people live in running conflict with the Quagoa, the mole-like demi-humans of the same mountains.
