Dungeon
Dungeon in Overlord is a class of adventuring location in the game Yggdrasil: monster-filled areas raided for treasure and experience, some claimable as guild bases, including the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
Adventuring in the game at the heart of Overlord revolves around a particular kind of place. A dungeon in Yggdrasil is an area players enter to hunt monsters, level up, and win items, with no warning label telling a party whether the difficulty suits them. Clearing one yields treasure ranging from data crystals to artifacts, first visits grant bonus chests, and under special conditions a clear can even award a World Item.
Dungeons vary wildly: some entrances appear only under a full moon or during a blizzard, some scale for giant bodies, and some can be conquered and converted into guild bases, administered under the dungeon rule system called Ariadne. The hardest type, the simultaneous attack dungeon, demands several parties advancing along separate routes at once; the Great Tomb of Nazarick is one of these.
