Data
The stuff YGGDRASIL is made of: players, monsters, items and dungeons all exist as Data, slotted in from crystals, capped by an item's materials, and used to rank equipment from low-class up to divine-class.
Data is the term YGGDRASIL uses for what everything in the game is made of: players, NPCs, monsters, items and dungeons all exist as Data, packed into crystals commonly called Data Crystals. The sheer volume of it was what set YGGDRASIL apart from rival DMMO-RPGs, and it made two identical characters all but impossible to arrive at by accident. Crystals dropped by monsters can be slotted into gear to grant it effects, and equipment is ranked by how much Data it carries, running from low-class up to divine-class, with Guild Weapons and World Items far above that. Every item has a fixed capacity, set by its materials and by the skill of whoever made it. Data comes in audio, visual, cosmetic skin, monster, music and special-effects varieties, some of it sold as downloadable content, and the law governing virtual reality games forbids sensory Data for smell and taste.
