Carne Village
Carne Village in Overlord is a frontier farming village of the Re-Estize Kingdom beside the Great Forest of Tob, an unguarded settlement of some 120 people whose herb trade sits two days from E-Rantel.
Fifty kilometers northeast of the fortress city E-Rantel sits Carne Village, a frontier settlement of the Re-Estize Kingdom at the edge of the Great Forest of Tob, south of the Azerlisia Mountains. Around one hundred twenty people in twenty-five families live there, farming, drawing on the forest, and gathering the herbs that supply the village's one profitable export, all without a single soldier posted to protect them.
Village life is communal by necessity: most income is set aside for the community, and households support one another through hardship. Carne's quiet breaks when armed knights descend on the settlement, the event that first draws the undead magic caster Ainz Ooal Gown out of Nazarick and into contact with the people of the New World.
