A human nation east of the Azerlisia Mountains, ruled from Arwintar as an absolute monarchy and known for its professional army, its magic academy and the yearly campaign it fights against the neighbouring Re-Estize Kingdom.
Baharuth Empire (バハルス帝国) is a human nation of the New World, lying east of the Azerlisia Mountains and governed from its capital, Arwintar. It was founded in the aftermath of the Evil Deities' defeat more than two centuries ago. Three generations back it was still a feudal state much like its neighbour the Re-Estize Kingdom; the reigning Emperor then stripped the nobility of power and built an absolute monarchy on a centralized bureaucracy. Its people enjoy a higher standard of living than most of the region, literacy is high by regional standards, and commoners can rise on merit rather than birth. The Imperial Magic Academy trains the arcane casters the state depends on, while the Imperial Army fields professional soldiers equipped by the Ministry of Magic. Each year the Empire meets the Kingdom in a limited campaign on the Katze Plains.
