Ainz Ooal Gown (Web Novel)
Ainz Ooal Gown, formerly the player Momonga, is the undead guildmaster of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, stranded in another world when the game Yggdrasil shuts down.
On the closing night of the DMMO-RPG Yggdrasil, one player stays logged in to the end inside his guild's headquarters. The Overlord web novel follows what happens when the shutdown hour passes and Momonga, guildmaster of Ainz Ooal Gown, finds himself still seated on his throne: the game systems are gone, the Great Tomb of Nazarick stands in an unknown grassland, and the NPCs his guildmates built now move and speak with wills of their own.
Trapped in the skeletal body of his undead Overlord avatar, Momonga takes the guild's name as his own and resolves to make Ainz Ooal Gown known across the New World while searching for any sign of others like himself. The NPCs of Nazarick regard him as the highest of the Forty-One Supreme Beings, and he is the creator of the NPC Pandora's Actor.
