X-23 is the designation scientists gave a child grown from Logan's DNA, and Laura is the name she chose for herself. She came out of that program carrying most of what he carries, arranged a little differently: two adamantium claws out of each hand rather than three, and one more out of each foot. Add a healing factor that closes what should not close, a sense of smell as sharp as his, and strength that has nothing to do with her size. She and the other children in the program got themselves out of it. She has been through a good deal since, including a spell in the Void, the waste ground the Time Variance Authority keeps for timelines it has finished with. She speaks English and Spanish, and still has the sunglasses she took as a child.
