Whiplash

Ivan Vanko is a Russian physicist and the son of Anton Vanko. Born on February 15, 1968, he grew up in a broken home with a father who had once worked with Howard Stark on the Arc Reactor before being deported from the United States, and he took on both his father's command of physics and mechanical science and his father's hatred of the Stark family. In 1993 Vanko was convicted of selling Soviet era weapons grade plutonium to Pakistan and served fifteen years in Kopeisk Prison. Working from his father's old designs, he assembles his own miniature Arc Reactor and an exoskeleton harness fitted with two electrified whips that cut through almost anything, and takes the name Whiplash. An agent of the Ten Rings hands him a ticket to the Circuit de Monaco, where Tony Stark is due to appear.
