Stark Industries is a multinational industrial company and one of the largest technology conglomerates in the world, seen in the 2008 film Iron Man. Howard Stark founded the firm in 1939 and built it into a supplier of innovative weapons and technology for the United States Armed Forces, work that included helping the government develop Project Rebirth in the 1940s. Under Howard the company also launched the Stark Expo, billed as the World Exposition of Tomorrow, a New York City event that gathers great minds and shows off new technology. Its other ventures over the decades include the film studio subsidiary Stark Pictures, an Arc Reactor built to supply clean and efficient power to the company's main plant, and, by the 1980s, surveillance drones and the CXD 23 Airborne Mobile Command Station.
