Spider

Matthew Kimmel, call sign Spider, is a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force. The movie is set largely in the 1990s and draws on the culture of American military aviation, from test flights to the off duty rituals of the pilots themselves. Spider belongs to that world, one of the airmen who unwind at Pancho's Bar near Edwards Air Force Base in the California desert, drinking and playing the barroom game Crud with fellow pilots. Captain Marvel centers on Carol Danvers, herself tied to the Air Force, and pilots like Spider populate the flying community that surrounds her story.
