Paris

Paris is the capital city of France. During World War II, Paris, like much of Europe, lies under German occupation, a fact of the war that hangs over the Allied soldiers. The city is otherwise its real world self: the seat of French government on the River Seine, one of Europe's great capitals, and a landmark of culture and history recognized around the world. War maps, barracks jokes, and radio reports in the wartime setting treat Paris as shorthand for everything the Allies are fighting to win back.
