Nikolai Poloznev came up through the Police of Russia and left it to build a fortune, and he is now an industrialist whose assets run to several billion dollars. His standing brought him into Vladimir Putin's circle, and the two became friends. He owns houses in a number of countries and has settled in New York City with his daughter Natalia, who studies at the New York Academy of Medicine. He turns up to her events, and he likes listening to her play the violin. He was born in 1958 and raised in the Soviet Union by his father.
