Merchant Tribe
One of the five Wakandan tribes in Black Panther, also called the Masu or Makers.
The Merchant Tribe, known in Wakanda as the Masu or the Makers, is one of the five tribes that make up the kingdom. Its ancestors fought over the land for years after a vibranium meteorite fell in the region, and the tribe merged with the Artisan Tribe to form the larger Masu, though the older name stuck. When Bashenga, the first Black Panther, brought the fighting to an end, the Merchant Tribe pledged fealty to the Golden Tribe and settled the northern side of the country. Purple is its traditional color. Its members handle most of Wakanda's trade and craft its clothing, artifacts, and works of art, and they typically wear a veil during a trade to keep their anonymity.
