Maya Hansen

Doctor Maya Hansen works on the problem of rewriting genetic code, and has been chasing it since MIT, where her research into biological DNA coding was strong enough to bring organizations and private money to her door. Her version of it is called Extremis. She met Tony Stark on New Year's Eve 1999 at a conference in Bern, an evening that also put Aldrich Killian in front of her, and she afterward carried her research into Killian's think tank, Advanced Idea Mechanics, where she came to run a team of forty scientists on the program. Stark, who is not generous about anyone else's intelligence, calls her the most gifted scientist he has met. She keeps a run of botanical work going alongside it.
