Lucky the Pizza Dog

Lucky is a golden retriever with one eye and no owner, first seen sitting alone in the snow outside a New York City hotel in December. Kate Bishop finds him there, or he finds her, and after he wanders into a busy street at exactly the wrong moment she scoops him up, carries him home to her apartment, and feeds him the only thing in her refrigerator, a single leftover slice of pizza. He eats it with total commitment, which is how a stray with no name comes to be known as the Pizza Dog. He is a good-natured, unbothered animal, equally content chewing a pizza box or settling onto a couch, and once Kate takes him in he simply stays.
