J. Lim is a field agent in the FBI's New York office, serving under Special Agent in Charge Tammy Hattley. He is assigned to the protective detail guarding Wilson Fisk after the Bureau moves the imprisoned crime lord out of Rikers Island and into a sealed-off penthouse floor of the Presidential Hotel. It is a bitter posting: the convoy transferring Fisk was ambushed by Albanian gunmen, and among the agents killed was Lim's friend Garcia, the best man at his wedding. Lim does the job anyway, running room checks and camera shifts with dry gallows humor and making no secret of his contempt for the man he protects, right down to the insult he mutters while serving Fisk his dinner.
