Francis David "Frank" Castle, Jr. is the son of Frank and Maria Castle and the brother of Lisa Castle. He was born while his father was stationed in Afghanistan with the Marine Corps and was already walking by the time the two met, a first meeting he greeted with screaming. Growing up he idolized his father's service, painting a Marine on the wall of the family home at eight years old and telling his father that a Marine protects people and that it was his job to keep his mother and sister safe while he was away. He played at being a soldier, guarding the piano bench with a fistful of cookies until he fell asleep on the crumbs, and he was close to Billy Russo, a friend from his father's unit.
