The Einherjar Guard is a soldier of Asgard's elite royal corps in Thor: The Dark World, sent by Odin to Svartalfheim to walk the battlefield and bring word back to the throne.
The Einherjar Guard is a soldier of the Einherjar, the elite corps that serves the throne of Asgard. He wears the gold and bronze armor of the royal guard, carries a spear and a broad shield, and stands watch in the palace among the men who answer to Odin directly.
Odin sends him to Svartalfheim, the ash-colored world of the Dark Elves, to walk the ground after the fighting there and bring back word of what happened. The guard makes the crossing alone and reports to the king in the throne room on his return.
