Egypt, formally the Arab Republic of Egypt, is a transcontinental country sitting mostly in the northeast corner of Africa. Its older history is not only a human one. The gods of the Ennead were worshipped here, and at some point they settled on a policy of watching rather than intervening, reaching into human affairs through chosen avatars and otherwise leaving people to their own conflicts. One of them would not agree to it. Khonshu refused to step back from humanity and was banished for the refusal, and he has worked through avatars of his own ever since, each carrying the title Moon Knight.
