Doris Urich

Doris Urich is the wife of the reporter Ben Urich. The two met while Ben was a young reporter working a story on VA kickbacks, and they married after the piece ran and have lived happily together for many years, though Ben has always counted himself a workaholic who did not give her the attention she deserved. Doris now lives with an illness that needs round the clock care, and she is a long term patient at Metro-General Hospital, where her husband carries the cost and sits at her bedside; the two still joke and flirt, though she sometimes loses the thread of a conversation and greets him afresh as if they had not been talking. She backs his work without hesitation and tells him his best story is still ahead of him.
