The Destroyer is an Asgardian automaton, a towering suit of enchanted metal that stands guard over Odin's Vault in Thor. It answers to whoever rules Asgard and holds the spear Gungnir, obeying that ruler without question no matter who the ruler is at the time, and it can be sent outward as a weapon against Asgard's enemies. Its faceplate opens to release a beam of destructive energy.
