The Centipede Serum comes out of the Centipede Project, and Doctor Debbie Hynes is one of the scientists behind it. She recruits the subjects herself and runs the trials herself, and she knows enough chemistry, physics, and anatomy to have put the compound together in the first place. The work is not stable. The Extremis in the mixture leaves a subject liable to come apart. When a news camera is put in her face and she is asked about the man who carried her out of a burning building, she says she has no idea who he is.
