Bret Johnson is an officer in the United States Air Force who enlisted and served alongside Carol Danvers and Maria Rambeau. He led a squadron called the Demons during Field Day, micromanaging his team before deciding to do the competing himself, and he ran the anchor leg of the relay race. He tried out for the Flying Falcons, an elite squadron, going up with Captain Jenks in the first group of three and taking the safety procedures on his own, and he was selected. Johnson makes no secret of thinking women do not belong in the cockpit of a plane, telling Danvers she is a good pilot but too emotional.
