Brazil

Spanning nearly half of South America, Brazil is the largest country on the continent and in Latin America as a whole, stretching from the Amazon rainforest in the north to the great cities of its Atlantic coast. Portuguese-speaking and continental in scale, it holds some of the hemisphere's most populous urban centers, including São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, whose hillside neighborhoods, beaches, and dense favelas are recognized around the world.
