Attuma is a warrior of the Talokanil, the people of the hidden underwater nation ruled by Namor, and he stands among the finest fighters their army has. He is stronger and harder to hurt than any surface soldier, breathes water through the gills at his neck, and wears a breathing mask when the fighting moves onto land. Like the rest of his people he can weave the hypnotic song that pulls listeners toward the water. His weapon of choice is an axe that collapses into its handle for concealment, and he fights with a cold professional calm, keeping a soldier's respect for the rare opponent who can stand up to him: to be called warrior by Attuma is to have earned it.
