Anton Vanko is a Soviet physicist and the father of Ivan Vanko. A graduate of Moscow State University, he relocated to the United States and by 1946 was working for Stark Industries at its New York facility, ranking among the leading scientists there. His grasp of Howard Stark's experimental work is close enough that when Peggy Carter and Edwin Jarvis bring him a diffused sample of one of Stark's formulas, he identifies the radiation coming off it and narrows down which companies in American industry could have weaponized it. He is fluent in Russian and English.
