Scott Lang is an electrical engineer and convicted burglar in Ant-Man, recruited by Hank Pym to wear a suit that shrinks its wearer to insect size while keeping the strength of a grown man.
Scott Lang is a burglar with a master's degree in electrical engineering, and he takes the name Ant-Man. Newly out of San Quentin State Prison and unable to hold a job with a conviction on his record, he wants to pay the child support he owes and be part of the life of his young daughter, Cassie.
Hank Pym recruits him to wear the Ant-Man suit, a red and silver outfit built around a substance that shrinks a person to the size of an insect while packing his full mass into that frame, so a punch lands with the weight of a grown man behind it. The helmet carries a transmitter that lets the wearer direct ants. Pym's daughter, Hope van Dyne, trains him to fight.
