Anna Nelson runs the family butcher shop, Nelson's Meats, with her husband Edward. She is the mother of Franklin, better known as Foggy, and of Theo. She wanted Franklin to learn the trade and take over the counter one day, though he went to Columbia University to study law instead. The shop doubles as the family gathering place, and she keeps a close eye on everyone in it.
