Angie Martinelli

Angela Martinelli waits tables at the L&L Automat in New York, which is the job that pays for the one she actually wants. Angie is an actress, or means to be: she auditions for everything going, takes three trains across the city to reach a call, and has been stopped two bars into a song more than once. The radio part of Betty Carver in The Captain America Adventure Program went to somebody else. She lives at the Griffith Hotel, a women-only building whose landlady enforces the house rules to the letter. One of the Automat's regulars is an Englishwoman named Peggy Carter, whom Angie has taken to calling English, and the two of them are friends across the counter.
