Andrew Henry

Detective Andrew Henry works homicide for the Los Angeles Police Department, and one case owns him. In 1945 a killer the press dubbed the Lady of the Lake stabbed two women and left them in Echo Park Lake; Henry ran the manhunt, kept one detail back from the papers, the victims' shoes switched onto the wrong feet, and never caught his man. The case froze. Two years later it comes back in the most literal way Los Angeles has ever seen: a woman's body in Echo Park Lake on the hottest day of the year, and the lake itself turned to a sheet of ice around her. Henry wants the case handled his way. His superiors, staring at the ice, call in federal help instead.
