Ancestral Plane

The Ancestral Plane is an astral dimension that serves as the afterlife of Wakandan belief, one of several such planes said to exist alongside the mortal world. Wakandans hold that after death the soul settles there, carried to a green veld beneath a painted sky where the departed roam forever, ancestors sometimes taking the form of panthers resting in the branches of a great acacia tree. A living Black Panther can visit: after consuming the Heart-Shaped Herb and being ritually buried, the champion awakens rising out of the earth of the Plane, able to commune with the ancestors before being pulled back. Time runs strangely there, and long conversations among the dead pass in mere moments among the living.
