A gaseous pathogen created for the Inhuman Hive that forces a corrupted Terrigenesis on ordinary humans, turning them into obedient, disfigured creatures called Primitives.
Engineered under duress by the scientist Holden Radcliffe, the Absolution Virus is a gaseous pathogen built to force Terrigenesis on people with no Inhuman heritage at all. Radcliffe developed it as a prisoner of Hive, an ancient Inhuman bent on remaking humanity in his own image, and the formula that finally worked blends three components: Terrigen, Kree blood, and the parasites that make up Hive himself. Exposure warps its victims rather than unlocking them, collapsing ordinary humans into Primitives, deformed and nearly mindless creatures that emerge from the mist already swayed into total obedience to Hive. Early versions were lethal outright, killing test subjects horrifically before the Kree blood was added to make the transformation survivable.
