Yedan Derryg is the Master of Arms at Boaral Keep. He serves the keep's lord, Dresh Boaral, and through him the Letherii and the Tiste Edur, while among his own people he holds the title of the Watch, the Prince and Watch of the Shake. His younger half sister Yan Tovis, called Twilight, is Queen of the Shake.
He has a prominent, muscular jaw under a matted black beard, and he is always chewing on something. He wears a visored helmet and a chain hauberk of glistening blackened rings, and carries a long handled single bladed axe. He is not a loquacious man. He may hold a hundred thousand words in his head without labouring under any need to give them voice.
