The White Face are a confederation of twenty-seven Barghast clans holding the mountains and ranges north of the city of Capustan on Genabackis. Their name comes from their war paint: thick white pigment across face, chest, and shoulders that turns each warrior into a likeness of bone, a skull with dark pits for eyes. They are the strongest of the Barghast peoples, counted above a hundred thousand, tribal, spirit-guided, and jealously independent, gathered under the paramount warchief Humbrall Taur as Memories of Ice opens. With the theocratic Pannion Domin expanding toward Capustan, the question of where the White Face clans will stand weighs on every army in the region.
